Y12SR - Recovery Yoga

  • Y12SR is a program that invites individuals to build capacity and resilience, to cultivate skillful mind states for skillful actions, to practice presence, to integrate, to learn, to teach, and to heal within the context of community. Each class is a 90 minute session where we start with 30 minutes of discussion on a recovery topic either brought forth by the group members or selected by the teacher followed by an hour of a somatic yoga practice. When designing the session, we make it simple but not necessarily easy. Whether you have been doing yoga for 20 years or this is your first class, you will be challenged. Following the discussion, participants transition into a dynamic hour-long somatic yoga practice. Rooted in mindfulness and embodied movement, this practice offers a unique blend of yoga postures, breathwork, and meditation techniques tailored to support recovery journey.

Y12SR does NOT replace 12 Step meetings, having a sponsor or working the steps. It is a supplement to add to your healing toolbox.

In crafting each session, we prioritize simplicity without compromising depth. Whether you're a seasoned yogi with decades of experience or stepping onto the mat for the first time, expect to be gently challenged and empowered.
